Pride Month is a celebration of identity, resilience, and community. It’s a time to honor the courage it takes to live authentically and to recognize the long history of LGBTQ+ individuals advocating for their right to be seen, respected, and loved as they are. But alongside the parades and the rainbow flags, Pride Month is also an important moment to talk about something that doesn’t always get the spotlight: mental health.
Why Mental Health Matters During Pride
In my work as a therapist, I’ve witnessed how the journey toward self-acceptance so often unfolds against a backdrop of stigma, discrimination, family rejection, or the exhausting work of navigating a world that doesn’t always make space for you. These experiences take a real toll. LGBTQ+ individuals face higher rates of anxiety, depression, and trauma-related struggles—not because of who they are, but because of what they so often have to endure.
That’s why I believe affirming, compassionate mental health care isn’t a luxury. It’s essential. Having a therapist who understands your experience, who creates a space free of judgment, and who celebrates your identity rather than questioning it can be genuinely life-changing.
Care That Sees the Whole You
At Eastside Psychiatry and TMS Center, we believe that everyone deserves to feel safe, understood, and supported in their mental health journey. Our clinic offers a full range of services, including therapy, medication management, and TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation) therapy for those with medication resistant depression.
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, my work is rooted in affirmation, inclusion, and deep respect for each person’s unique story—and my door is always open to those seeking help. My top specialties include LGBTQ+ care, women’s issues, and trauma and PTSD—areas that speak directly to so many of the experiences that come up during Pride and throughout the year. I’m also knowledgeable in polyamory and ethical non-monogamy (ENM), and experienced in supporting transgender clients.
My expertise spans a wide range of additional concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, autism, bipolar disorder, body image, coping skills, divorce, domestic abuse, grief, impulse control disorders, life transitions, mood disorders, obesity, peer relationships, self-esteem, sexual abuse, and stress.
Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.
You Deserve Support That Affirms You
Pride is about visibility and the freedom to be fully yourself. I believe mental health care should offer the same thing: a place where you are seen, valued, and supported without conditions. Whether you’re navigating a difficult transition, working through past trauma, or simply looking for someone to talk to who understands, the right support can make all the difference.
